Member Rules

[lag] is an invite only clan.  What this means is that you don't call us, we call you.  We are always looking for good people, but it's one's attitude that makes or breaks an invitation.  Play on the server for a while.  Become a regular, get to know the locals, have fun, and establish a reputation for yourself.

You will be contacted by an admin when the vote is concluded.  Sometimes voting takes a while. Please be patient.

Admins have final say on anything having to do with the forums, server, and other facets of [lag].  We are united in our commitment to keeping the peace, enforcing the rules, and making this place what it is and what it can be.

1) Membership:

Any permanent member of [lag] can sponsor someone for a vote for membership.  That you shall not sponsor more than one person a month and a hold has not been called on sponsorship shall be the only limitations.  There are three stages of membership: Sponsorship, Recruit, and Permanent Membership.  Admins reserve the right to dispense with the sponsorship stage (clan vote) and install someone directly as a recruit wearing [gal] tags.

1)       It is the sponsor’s responsibility to post (in the clan section of the forum) their reasons for sponsoring said person and starting a vote.

a.       Polls will require THREE answers:  Yes, No, and I Need More Time To Decide.  No other wording will be accepted as it can possibly bias the vote.

b.       The poll will only be valid if it is run for a minimum of 2 weeks..

c.       A 70% majority vote by all participating clan members is required for the potential recruit to move on to the next phase of membership.

                                                               i.      At least 25 members will have to participate in the vote in order for it to be ‘legal’.

d.       If the majority votes for more time, a new two week only poll will be started.

2)       The Sponsor shall be responsible for the actions of his/her recruit during the time the recruit wears [gal] tags.

a.       If you can’t vouch for their behavior, you have no business sponsoring that person.

3)       The (now) recruit will then be told by an admin to wear the [gal] tag.  It is the recruit and sponsor’s responsibility to ensure that the recruit understands the server and membership rules.

a.       All [gal] recruits will be required to register for the [lag] forums.

b.       Admins reserve the right to add or subtract any requirements for recruitment.

c.   All [gal]s are required to wear their tags on the server at all times unless extenuating circumstances arise that the admins are aware of.

4)       A clan-wide vote will be taken one week prior to the admin vote to reevaluate the clan's approval of membership.

           a.    The poll will be posted by an admin only.

           b.    A majority vote of 80% by all participating clan embers is required for the recruit to move on to the next phase of membership.

                         i.   At least 30 members must participate in the vote.

5)      The admins shall hold a separate vote 30-45 days after [gal] tags have been worn by the recruit or at the next admin meeting to determine permanent membership.

2)  Polls and Voting

1)       Any clan member can start a poll in the clan section.  The only stipulation being that it be clan oriented and non-offensive.

2)       Map Votes

a.       Clan members may vote to add or remove a map in rotation.

                                                               i.       As in member votes, the listed answers should be: Yes, No, and I Need More Time To Decide.

ii.      A majority vote of 70% will be needed to take any sort of action.

1.       At least 25 members must participate in the vote.

iii.      The vote will have a time frame of no less than two weeks.

iv.      Admins reserve the right to veto a vote in some cases.

3)       Any registered persons can create a poll in any of the separate forums provided that the polls and their answers are not offensive.

3)  General Rules:

1)       Obey the server rules.  You are a walking advertisement for [lag].  Your behavior on and off the server reflects on the clan while you wear your tags.

2)       Help the admins.  We all have to work together to make this clan and this server as good as it can and should be.  If you see a blatant infraction of the server rules, speak up, both to the trouble-maker and your nearest admin.

a.       It would also be a good idea to post the incident in the Clan section of the forums as a record so that it may be referred back to at a later point.

b.       If your complaint is against another clan member, moderator, or admin then it should be posted in the private Clan section of the forum.  There is no reason to air clan business in public.

c.       In ALL cases, deal in facts.  List the person/s involved, dates, and times as well as the complaint itself.

4)       Be considerate of your clan-mates.  Work as a team.  If you can't say something nice, don't say it on the server—take it to email or instant message.  If you cannot work your differences out with a clan-mate, take it to the admins via the clan section of the forums or contact an admin privately via email, instant message, or private message.

5)       Be specific in all things.  Clan trashing is not necessary.  No one says you have to like members of every clan out there, but making sweeping statements like "Clan insert clan name here are all scum sucking buttheads" is unkind, unfair, and uncouth.  Be the bigger person and be civil if not respectful.

6)       ALL clan members are required to register at the forums and asked to check the forum frequently.  Information concerning practices, scrimmages, LAN parties, etc. will be posted there.

7)       Admins are people, too.  Courtesy is not too much to ask.  If you have an issue with a moderator or admin, go about dealing with that issue with a cool temper and a reasonable, open state of mind.  We do try to be fair and you have the right to air any grievance as long as it is with the understanding that admins have the last say in the matter.  Contact that admin or moderator either privately or in the Clan forum.
